Hosting friends or family in Northern Colorado for the holidays? Snowy roads, cozy dinners, and warm gatherings are wonderful—but you’ll want your home guest-ready. Use this checklist to clean efficiently and reduce stress.
4-Week Out (or as soon as you know guests are coming)
Declutter common areas: pull off unused items, reorganize.
Clean out guest-room closets and drawers.
Wash curtains/drapes, vacuum blinds.
2 Weeks Before
Deep clean kitchen: oven, fridge, cabinets, pantry.
Steam or shampoo carpets and rugs in high-traffic zones.
Wipe baseboards, dust light fixtures, wash windows.
1 Week Before
Clean bathrooms: grout, tile, exhaust fans. Stock soaps, fresh towels.
Wash bedding, including mattress pads, pillowcases.
2 Days Before
Mop and vacuum all floors.
Clean entrance area, porch, walkways. Remove snow, sweep.
Touch-up furniture polish, clean mirrors, fresh smells (candles, diffusers etc.).
Day Of
Clean kitchen surfaces after breakfast prep. Hide trash, clear clutter.
Vacuum again, especially entryways and guest bathroom.
Put out clean towels, toilet paper, toiletries.
